Most Capable Super Duty Ever!
While you’re not quite able to order a 2017 Ford Super Duty pickup yet, you’re certainly able to start thinking about it! At least that’s what we think Ford had in mind when getting us at Salerno Duane Commercial Trucks and Vans excited about the new 2017 line of Super Duty trucks from Ford.
Although Ford has released minimal information, we’re still pumped to see what they deliver on once they arrive at our Union County dealership location. What’s up with the 2017 F-Series trucks from our friends at Ford?
Stronger Frame, Lighter Body for the 2017 Ford Super Duty Lineup
Ford keeps the frame of these trucks strong with 95% steel that’s high-strength. This level of strength is six times stronger than Ford has ever made. This ensures that the frame is stronger; in fact, it’s 24 times stiffer than the frame on the old F-150s. The F-250 and F-350 will have thicker frames in order to accommodate the size and strength of the truck. The body is all aluminum, so Ford is able to get rid of 350 pounds of weight on this truck, therefore increasing its towing and hauling capacity.
While Ford has yet to release any numbers about how great the capacity will actually be, we’re anticipating that the numbers will impress and be better than ever for Ford. Ford has also promised better horsepower and torque in addition to improved suspension, bigger brakes, and an upgraded transmission. While the outlook is grim for manual transmissions, Ford customers may be impressed enough with the other aspects of the truck to overlook this.
2017 Ford Super Duty Safer Technology
Ford incorporates much of the safe technology that’s currently used in its vehicles into the 2017 line of Ford Super Duty trucks like the Ford F-650. This includes blind-spot monitoring, even with your trailer, so that you’ll never be in danger of merging into a blind spot again. There’s also cross-traffic alert, so your truck will monitor oncoming traffic and alert you if someone is veering into your lane.
The seven optional cameras on this truck make your ride safer than ever—see everything on one screen before you go. Five of these cameras are designed to monitor your tow, so where you can’t see, the cameras can. LED lighting both inside and out ensures a bright and safe ride even in the darkest and gloomiest weather. Seat belts that are inflatable help to ensure your safety during a crash.
- SYNC® 3 – Ford’s all-new communications and entertainment system features faster performance, conversational voice recognition and an easier-to-understand graphical interface, along with an intuitive smartphone-like 8-inch touchscreen.
- Blind Spot Information System with trailer tow is optimized for Super Duty to include the length of the trailer. BLIS® uses radar sensors in the taillamps to monitor areas that may not be visible to the driver.
- Lane departure warning provides a warning when a driver strays from a lane through a series of steering wheel vibrations that mimic rumble strips.
- Adaptive cruise control and collision warning with brake support use sensors to detect slower vehicles moving in the same direction. If another vehicle is too close, red lights flash on the windshield and a warning sound chimes. If the driver does not hit the brakes, the brake system is pre-charged to stop faster when the brake pedal is pressed.
Sharp Design and Upgrades
The square lights of the 2017 Ford Super Duty trucks such as the Ford F-750 feature four high beams and four low beams, all LED. The fender design is wider and adds a custom look to the Ford trucks. The vertical F-150 logo is something different for these trucks as well. With BoxLink cargo management system, a remote tailgate control, and doors that fold 170 degrees on the Super Cab, this truck promises innovation and style. A rear 110V outlet lets you charge your stuff without worry.
From their sharp colors to interior options and new design, the Super Duty family is looking better than ever for 2017 including the Ford F-450 and Ford F-550. Come check out our stock when the time comes for your 2017 Ford Super Duty at Salerno Duane Trucks in Summit, New Jersey!
