If you’re as excited as we are about the Ford F-Series Super Duty Trucks for 2017 like the Ford F-250, you’ll love checking out these brand-new trucks at the Ford Michigan Proving Grounds, where they were tested by Ford.
While there aren’t a ton of details for the 2017 Super Duty trucks available, they’re going to have more power than the current F-Series line and we’re expecting them to give their competitors a run for their money with the best max towing in class as well as some impressive engine output.
2017 Ford Super Duty Aluminum Body:
While the 2015 F-150 got a total redesign to include aluminum door panels, the 2017 F-Series line of Ford Super Duty trucks including the Ford F-350 are going to incorporate aluminum into the bed of the truck as well as the cabin. The aluminum has been proven to be tough under pressure but yet provide better numbers of towing and hauling. According to Ford, the aluminum will also hold up better when it comes to abuse and corrosion.
In order to ensure this aluminum body and bed will hold up to the tasks these trucks’ owners are likely to put them through, Ford conducted testing on these vehicles. The tests include a variety of cargo and weight to thoroughly test the new F-Series!
- Ford engineers tough tested the high-strength, military-grade, aluminum-alloy cargo box of the all-new 2017 Ford F-Series Super Duty with popular aftermarket equipment, ranging from glass racks to salt spreaders to ATV carriers.
- Testing was performed virtually using supercomputers to predict robustness and with maximum-loaded aftermarket equipment over some of the most extreme road surfaces available, from potholed durability courses to off-road terrain.
- The all-new 2017 F-Series Super Duty is the toughest, smartest and most capable Super Duty ever, leveraging advanced materials to reduce weight and featuring all-new, segment-exclusive smart technology to help increase customer productivity, comfort and convenience.
The testing showed that there were no issues with the structure or performance. The 2017 Super Duty trucks like the Ford F-450 can be seen driving over deep potholes, bumpy roads, and different terrains. The aluminum structure is supposed to hold up extremely well even with the aftermarket cargo and salt spreaders these trucks are carrying.
